Dr. Erdoğan holds a doctoral degree in Finance from the Gazi University of Ankara (April 2010). He specializes in Financial Economics with an emphasis on applied corporate finance and international finance and spatial econometrics. Prior to joining the Regional Research Institute, Dr. Erdoğan worked as an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at the Gumushane University of Turkey. His research interests includes “Foreign Direct Investments and Pollution Control: CO2 Emissions in Europe, Spatial Econometric Analysis” and “Spatial Econometric Analysis of Determinants of Banking Profitability.” His research has an interdisciplinary focus that overlaps with finance, regional sciences, geography, and business. “I believe that the Regional Research Institute will provide me with a strong multidisciplinary background that will facilitate my research in spatial econometrics, and financial applications,” Dr. Erdoğan said.
