Dr. Sant’Ana holds a bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and a M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Energy Planning at the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP). He’s a professor at the Universidade Federal do ABC (UFABC), Brazil, in the fields of energy economics and energy efficiency. He has coordinated three research projects and participated in 18 others in the energy policy, planning and regulation area. Sant’Ana works together with industry and the government to design projects, strategies and policy mechanisms to bring to market energy efficient technologies. “My experience gave me a systemic view of energy, and I believe that RRI is a strong interdisciplinary environment in regional economics, which is a vital component of energy policy, regulation and planning analysis.”
