Péter Járosi obtained a degree in Economics at the Faculty of Business and Economics of Janus Pannonius University, Pécs, in 1991, and qualified as a Programmer Mathematician at the Faculty of Science, József Attila University of Szeged. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Pécs (2011). Previously he served as Associate Professor at the Budapest Business College and Managing Director of the National Exchequer Resources Directorate in Budapest. His research focuses on regional economic development policy modeling. Dr. Járosi teaches Mathematics, Computer Programming and Modeling of Regional Economics. In the MTA-PTE (Hungarian Academy of Sciences – University of Pécs) Innovation and Economic Growth Research Group he works as a research fellow together with Attila Varga, who was presented the RRI Outstanding Alumni Scholar award in 2011. The main purpose of Péter’s visit is to expand the research connections between the Regional Research Institute and the University of Pécs, especially in the topics of spatial econometrics and input-output modeling.
