My research interests center on understanding the economic efficiency and distributional equity implications of changes in energy production and consumption across the United States.

I currently work as a Senior economist supporting the Strategic Systems Analysis & Engineering Directorate at the U.S. Department of Energy's National Energy Technology Lab (NETL). I utilize economic theory and empirical methodology to analyze the economic impacts of R&D being conducted by the lab. My research to date has focused on the development and deployment of carbon capture and storage technologies, electricity market infrastructure changes, identifying new markets for domestic coal resources and demand response for natural gas. In my own time, I work on understanding household energy insecurity and what factors influence household's decision to invest in energy efficiency.
